The Be Aware Be Safe Project has just finished our first roadshow on adult abuse. We went to the Learning Rooms In Southport and there was 16 people with learning disabilities there.
Emma, Sarah and Stephen were the roadshow leaders and did a fabulous job. Everyone was really interested and asked lots of questions. People also got involved in the activities and gave lots of good answers. At the end of the roadshows 10 people said they now knew where to go to for help and 8 people said they now knew a lot more about adult abuse.
A staff member said, ” I can’t believe this was your first roadshow it was really good”. One of the people there said, ” I learnt loads, thanks for coming it was great to hear Stephen’s story too”.
Emma said,” I really enjoyed it, I was a bit nervous being the first one, but felt confident at the end, I am looking forward to the next one”
Stephen said, ” I really enjoyed telling my story and felt people understood what I was trying to tell them”.
Sarah said ,” I felt a bit nervous and needed a bit of support, but I was able to answer some of the questions and this made me feel more confident”
