Annual General Meeting

On Tuesday 12th September we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM).  We held it in the big function room at the Mons in Bootle.

Our Chairs; Patrick and Phil welcomed everyone to the event and we started our presentations.  Helen gave an update about our finance and funding over the past year before we moved onto the members presentations about the work we have done over the past 12 months.

We heard presentations from:

  • The Sefton group
  • Health First Sefton
  • Road Ahead
  • Health First Liverpool
  • The Heritage Advocacy Story

After our presentations we had a quick break before moving onto our elections for the Board of Directors.  We thanked the Directors who were standing down (Tracy, Geraldine, Paul, Lesley, David and Rebecca.)

We held an election to fill 4 places on our Board.  The people who were voted on were Tracy, Lesley, David and Emma.  Patrick and Phil will also join the Board of Directors as they were elected as the Chairs of our Liverpool and Sefton groups.  Well done to them all, they will make fantastic Directors.

Phil said “I am bowled over, I am so proud to be back on the Board.”

We finished off the AGM with an awards ceremony, Andy Bowskill gave out the following awards:

  • Excellence in Leadership – Patrick and Emma
  • Skills and Learning – Rachael and Geraldine
  • Community Partnership – Tracy and Emma
  • Thinking of Others – Lesley and Karen
  • Best Host – Phil and Joe
  • Effort and Achievement – Max and Nicola
  • Best Newcomers – Karen and Will

Once the AGM was over we all had our lunch and a good chance to relax before we had some fun in the afternoon.  Collette from ‘Get Healthy, Get Active’ came along to do some chair exercises.  Everyone joined in and had a brilliant time.

“I loved it, it was boss being able to do the exercises and sing along to the music.”

“I would like to do more chair exercises, it’s a great way to keep fit.”

Collette said “The group are always really enthusiastic and they are always a pleasure to teach.”

After the Chair exercises we did some Sing and Sign.  Joanne led everyone in singing a few old favourites that we have learnt from the Merseysigners.

Sue said “I wish I could learn this all the time, it’s so good.”

Thank you to everyone who came to our AGM, we hope to see you all again next year.
