On 16th May The Road Ahead had a get to together at Waterloo Community Association with Thornton College students and People First members from the last Road Ahead course.
We played some board games and giant Jenga, then we played beer goggles game which turned into football game! We had a lovely buffet and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Helen and Paul came along to see us and they joined in the board games.
Emma said “I am more confident now to talk to other people. I talked to the lads a lot, it was great to meet up with them again after the course.”
People who had been on the course said they really enjoyed it because it was interactive, it was fun it was interesting. They would like to do another course because it included games.
Owen said “The course helped with my confidence because I was speaking out in the group.”
Michael said “I feel more confident using money.”
Arron said “The course helped my confidence working as a team.”
Staff from Thornton college told us that the students had loved the course and that they had noticed a change in people. One of the students has now started paying for his own fares on buses when he had travelled to the Road Ahead course and other place – he had never done this before!» Back to News
