Sefton Health Champions had a fantastic day at Hugh Baird College today. This was a transition event for students with learning disabilities to learn about what they can do after leaving college.
Lots of people came to the event and asked lots of questions about People First Merseyside and about the Health First Project. People said “That sounds great fun I want to join” and ” I have really learnt loads about how to stay healthy and will read all the information you have given me” .
People also said ” I want to be a Health Champion too and join People First. People took leaflets away about People First Merseyside. Some people took leaflets away about the roadshows. One person said ” I want you to come and do some roadshows in Southport to my supported houses”.
The Road Ahead Team also attended and we gave out lots of information about their work. Phil said, ” I really enjoyed today and it was great fun”
Lesley said, ” I loved being able to tell people about what we do and lots of people said they were interested , at least one lady has signed up to be a member- fantastic!!” Phil also said, ” It was great being an ex student of the college to tell people what I am doing now”
We had a great day and well done everyone for helping out.
