On Thursday 30th June the Sefton Health Champions were asked by the team from the Get Healthy Get Active project to take part in some filming for their promotional film that they will be used to promote the project and raise awareness of all of the activities that are on offer as part of the project.
We started the day off with a game of boccia lots of our team are very competitive so this made for a nailbiting game which the red team won in the end.
Next was movement to music which is like dance people really enjoyed it especially Lesley who likes dancing anyway, even the guys in the group really got into it.
There was no rest as we went into chair exercies people may think that this would be easy as we are sitting down but you would be wrong this is really hard work and works al of your muscles.
During the day we all got the chance to try out the gym equipment some of our members had never used the equipment before and really enjoyed itand have said they would like to go again.
After a light lunch was the highlight of the day the team got to go in a bell boat which is like 2 canoes tied together. Some of the group were really scared but we were proud that they faced thier fears and got into the boat a huge well done to both Emma and Sarah who we could get out of the boat once they were in.
All of the activities we did were being filmed and throughout the day members were interviewed about the difference being part of the project had made to their lives and how much healthier they feel.
We had a great day and members all want to do it again.
A huge thank you to everyone who was there to support us including: Vicki, Tina, George, Joe and Stew who did the filming.
