Rap In The City!!

On Tuesday 9th February members of the Road Ahead went to Liverpool Town Hall as we had made it to the finals of the Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Rap In The City Competition!

Vickie Yavuz from Leonard Cheshire’s Can Do project has been working with the Road Ahead since October 2015 and has supported the group to make a rap called NORMAL.

Vickie entered our rap into the Rap In The City Competition and we were shortlisted.

We all went along to the Town Hall and met the Lord Mayor of Liverpool.  Kat said “It was great, me,  Sarah, Rachel, Kyle and  all met up in Lime Street Station and then we walked to the Town Hall.  We got to look round and saw where all the councillors sit in the Town Hall.  It was really exciting and they played our rap in front of everyone on the screen.  Then we got a prize – I was so shocked as I didn’t think we’d win and we only made it the week before.”

We won the You Tube Award and we were over the moon!

Congratulations to everyone on the Road Ahead on all your hard work and a HUGE THANK YOU to Vickie from Leonard Cheshire’s Can Do Project for working with us to make the film and for nominating us – we had an awesome time!
