On Saturday 6th February members of the Road Ahead were invited to the Leonard Cheshire Can Do Project Launch at Bootle Town Hall. To celebrate all the hard work that all the Can Do Projects in Merseyside have been doing.
Lots of us went along, we were allowed to bring members of our family and we had booked 3 tables.
Vickie told us about all the work that all the groups had been doing Lewis stood up and told everyone about the Road Ahead and what we’ve been doing. After that we got our City and Guild Certificates.
There was work for sale that the other groups had made. Kat’s mum brought a mirror that one of the groups had made with mosiacs and Kat said “It is gorgeous, the colours are lovely and we are supporting all the other Can Do projects.”
Paul said “My mum and my sister came and thought it was great. There was all the art work that the other groups had been doing. We all got our certificates and there was a raffle – Lewis won and so did Kat they were really lucky. Vickie had organised a buffet and everyone watched our film. I felt really proud. At the end we did the boomwhackers and I loved them. I’d love to do it again – it brings people’s confidence out.”
We’d like to thank Vickie from Leonard Cheshire’s Can Do Project for including us in such an amazing day and we hope to work with you again in the future very soon.
