Health First Sefton – Session 11- Boxing for Fun!

Today we did some more roadshow planning for our next event at the Passport to Good Health event in May and new members took the lead. Paul Ching said “I thought that went well and really enjoyed it” .

Terri and Vicki came from the Get Healthy Get Active Team and everyone  had some practice delivering key health messages. Phil said “It’s important to remember to Eat  5  portions of vegetables or fruit each day for a healthy diet”.

Terri and Vicky issued everyone with their official Get Healthy Get Active T shirts and gave everyone their ‘Well Done’ letter for completing the 6 week taster activities programme. Everyone  can now get a wristband for Sefton leisure centres and get discounted actvities. Terri explained we will have one more celebration session in a few weeks and do some filming so other people can see how to do the programme.

Lesley said ” I’m looking forward to the water sports”. Simon said ” I’m going to use mine to go swimming” Sarah said ” I’m going to  use my pass with my mum”. Terri explained there will be a range of activities across Sefton that the champions and other people with learning disabilities can book on at a discount too!

In the afternoon we went to Masda Boxing Club and met Luke. He showed us  how to do exercise using boxing moves and we even went in the ring! Everyone agreed it was really good excercise and we think there will be some sore muscles tomorrow!
