On Monday 24th August, we were invited to deliver training to staff at Options as part of their Certificate Of Inclusion (COI). Our session was all about relationships and how support staff can encourage and enable people with a learning disability to have friendships and relationships.
Lesley and Lisa were the trainers for the day, they used worksheets, discussions, films and presentations during the day. Lisa talked about her own personal experiences from when she was in college and how staff often created barriers to relationships for her.
The staff at Options really enjoyed the day, they told us:
“A really interesting and enjoyable course”
“An excellent session, great interaction from everyone in the group”
“You covered so much more then I expected”
“Very informal and lots of fun”
“Very interesting, relationships for people we support can sometimes be a difficult topic.”
We had a great day delivering the session and can’t wait to do it all again next year.» Back to News
