The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

On Thursday 23rd July members of People First Merseyside Road Ahead and HealthFirst Liverpool Group went to the Empire theatre to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.

The group had decided to go and see this back in January so everyone was feeling really excited!

The play was about a young autistic boy and how he sees the world.  It was fabulous and people really related to the main character Christopher from the first moment he stepped on stage.

It was very sad at times but was really funny in places.  When we went out for tea afterwards people were talking about how they could see parts of Christopher’s lives in their own and how sometimes they struggle with their parents understanding them too!

People said:

“I feel like Christopher sometimes and I cried at the end when he got the dog.”

“I couldn’t believe it when he went to London on his own – he was fantastic.”

It was a fantastic story of achievement and advoacacy he was a great role model to everyone.  People wanted to know how old Christopher is now, if he did go to university and become a scientist.

We had a magical evening and left feeling like we could do anything.
