We had our usual warm ups and vocal exerciers and learned a new song “Little Help from my Friends” By the Beatles. We practiced Happy and “Don’t you Worry Child” for our concert at St Georges Hall on the 11th July. You need to get those tickets they are selling fast!
We then had our karaoke King and Queen slot – which is fast becoming a favourite for everyone.
First up with Rebecca singing Jessie J Domino. When she finished Rebecca said “I felt a little bit nervous singing in front of everyone. It’s my first time at the choir but I’m enjoying being with my friends and singing together.”
Kyle then sang “Allelujah”. Kyle said “I enjoyed singing in front of everyone it is one of my favourite songs – I heard it when I watched Shrek and I’ve never sang it to an audience before. I feel more confident.”
Geraldine sang “Let it Go” from Frozen. “It felt great singing in front of everyone and everyone interacting with me. I’m loving the choir. I love the film and we do Let It Go in zumba which I love as well.
Paul and Lesley did a duet of Dancing Queen by Abba. Lesley said “It felt fantastic singing together.” Paul said “I think we done it perfect.”
Shirley and Phil sang “Big Spender” Shirley said “I feel great, I’ve never got up and sung in front of people since I was a little girl of 6 or 7. ”
Phil said “I love singing in front of everyone and enjoyed singing with Shirley she did a great job.”
Finally Lisa read one of her own poems about soldiers returning from war. She said “I felt nervous and worried that people wouldn’t get what I was saying. It felt weird when everyone clapped.”
