What a terrific day we’ve all had down at Stanley Park with this gorgeous weather! We arrived at 10am and did a treasure hunt through Stanley Park to find pictures of our members – the winners were Liverpool FC – which was Lewis, Adam, Ash and Kelly – well done guys!
Active Me and Steve from Everton in the Community organised an AWESOME game of rounders – and there was some fabulous fielding and amazing batting from both teams – we are still looking for one of the balls as Kyle hit it out out of the park – it was a cracking shot!
It was great to see lots of our friends – everyone at Oakfield, Walton Youth Project and In Another Place – thank you so much for coming down and joining in the fun.
Our Co-Chairs of the Road Ahead presented certificates to everyone who have just completed the Road Ahead Training course – it was lovely to hear how much people had enjoyed the course and how much people had learned. One member said “It’s taught me about keeping my money safe and that has really helped me.” Another said “I’ve loved making friends and meeting new people.”
There were games of skittles, giant jenga and giant chequers going on through the day that everyone loved.
We stopped for lunch and then we had the Police horses come along – which was great and the Police Van – it is great fun getting to go inside the little cell at the back. It was great to meet the Police and find out more about what they do.
A big thank you to MB for making some gorgeous chocolate brownies which he sold to raise funds for People First Merseyside today.
It was an absolutely fantastic day, action packed and lots of fun. Thank you to everyone for coming along!
