Today our trainers Ash and Lewis talked to the group about keeping healthy. It was a really interactive session and our trainers did a presentation about the things they do to keep healthy. Lewis is part of a running group and Ash goes to Active Me sessions in the Lifestyles gyms and does exercises to keep calm. They like to eat healthy foods and look after themselves.
We talked about what food we eat and played some games to find out the amount of sugar in the food and drink that we have. People were really shocked to find out how much sugar is in some of the things we eat.
Did you know there are 7 teaspoons of sugar in a coca cola? A cookie has 1 teaspoon – how many cookies can you eat? There are lots of hidden sugars in the things we eat/drink.
We also talked about portion control and people were surprised at what was a healthy portion and what wasn’t.
It was a fun session and we can’t wait for next week!
