Gung Hei Fat Choy with the Road Ahead at Chinese New Year!

On Sunday 22nd February the Road Ahead went to sthe Chinese New Year celebrations in China town and it was great.  We’d already had a presentation from Duncan who is a member of our group about why Chinese New Year is important in his culture and what things mean.

Adam said “The firecrackers are really, really loud and there is loads of smoke too.”  We knew the firecrackers are important as all the noise chases  the evil spirits away.

Everyone loved watching the dragon chasing the pearl and how people ran in and out to help each other.  The people who do the Dragon and Liion dance are fantastic and are in the Hungar at the MPAC – it was brilliant seeing them doing the dances.

It was a really wet day but the atmosphere was electric and we all enjoyed it very much.

After we went for a Chinese Meal to relax and dry off!  We can’t wait for next year!
